DESCRIPTION:2024 18 Mile Run:\nCelebrate 52 years of running on LBI with the 18 Mile Run on Sunday\, October 8th\, 2023! The race starts at 10:00 AM in Holgate\, alongside a 12K starting at the same time. Runners will experience a flat\, straight course heading North on Long Beach Blvd\, with an average October temperature of 65 degrees and southerly winds. Registration opens on April 21st\, with final registration and packet pickup on October 12th and 13th. Early registration by September 15th ensures proper t-shirt and medal sizing. Entry fees range from $60 to $80\, with all participants receiving a race T-shirt\, commemorative medal\, and refreshment bag. SUMMARY:2024 Barnegat Light Ocean Mile Swim
DESCRIPTION:2024 Barnegat Light Ocean Mile Swim:\nThe Barnegat Light Ocean Mile Swim is back this July after a hiatus\, now operated by the nonprofit Friends of Barnegat Light Beach Patrol. Registration opened recently\, and the event is set for Saturday\, July 27th\, starting at 6:30 p.m.\, with online registration closing on July 25th. The race begins at 30th Street in Barnegat Light\, with a registration fee of $50 for general participants\, $25 for LBI lifeguards\, and free for BLBP guards. \nMale and female competitors start in separate heats\, with the second group having a time advantage. Check-in is required at 16th Street Beach from 12 to 6 p.m. on race day\, and wetsuits are generally not allowed unless the water temperature necessitates them. \nAwards include plaques for top male and female finishers and medals for age group winners. Teams compete as well\, capped at 325 swimmers\, with the course ending at 16th Street. Join us for an exciting ocean swim experience and post-race celebration on the beach!
